The Kenya Ports Authorities (KPA) have issued a circular note on the 21st of April 2020 informing that vessels arriving in Mombasa with bulk cargo will be discharged directly on trucks without prior bagging.
Usually the bagging operations take place at quay all along the discharging operations and trucks loaded with bagged cargo then leave the port area.
As from the 24th of April 2020, the bagging operations are prohibited within the port area because of the Covid 19 situation in order to limit the spread of the virus.
Receivers of cargo are required to seek alternative facilities outside the port for bagging services until further KPA’s notice.
