Special attention is required with the navigating on the Congo river to Matadi because of grounding risk. It is possible to discharge at Banana station on barges to light the vessel before entering the river.
It is prohibited to discharge mould cargo in Matadi for sanitary reasons. The bags found partly mouldy throughout discharge are left on board.
It is difficult to travel in the country because of military roadblocks. Attendance in other parts of DRC than Matadi must be anticipated to make sure that a competent surveyor can attend.
