The risk of pirate attack while vessel is proceeding to berth or while at anchorage awaiting berthing has been the major concern about Nigerian ports. We are able to arrange the armed guard and gun boat escort services for the vessel.
Holds should be opened for discharge only upon receipt of customs clearance for commencement of discharge and attention should be paid to the quantity cleared for discharge whether it is total or part cargo.
Special attention shall be given in Nigerian ports. It is advisable for the vessel to ensure a strict access control system. The vessel should carry out a stowaway check after sailing from berth.
